Yes. Basic QR code safety checks are completely free — 5 per day, no signup needed. We built this as a public safety tool. Premium (₹99/month) adds unlimited checks, scan history, and alerts.
We decode the QR to extract the UPI VPA (merchant ID), amount, and metadata. Then we check the VPA against fraud databases, analyze the VPA format for suspicious patterns, verify merchant name consistency, and flag collect requests disguised as payment QRs.
We never see your payment credentials. We only analyze the QR code image to extract the merchant’s UPI ID. Free users’ scans are not stored. Premium users’ scan history is encrypted and stored on Indian servers.
Do not make the payment. If you’re at a physical location, inform the shop owner (their QR may have been tampered with). Report the QR code through our app — we’ll add it to the fraud database. For significant fraud attempts, file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in.
